# Build Agents and Workflows by Describing Them

> Sculptor is VoiceInfra's built-in AI builder. Describe what you want in plain language and it configures agents, workflows, knowledge, and numbers for you — showing you every change before it applies.

Sculptor is an AI assistant that lives inside your VoiceInfra workspace. Instead of clicking through every setting, you describe the outcome you want — *"Create a receptionist agent for a dental office"* or *"Why did my last call end early?"* — and Sculptor does the work: it reads your workspace, configures resources, and shows you exactly what it changed.

<Note>
  **Sculptor is in BETA.** It is available on every plan and is metered — see [Sculptor messages](#sculptor-messages). Behaviour and available tools may change.
</Note>

## Two ways to use it

Sculptor is the same assistant in two places, and conversations started in one are available in the other.

  <Card title="The panel" icon="panel-right">
    A docked panel available on every page. Press **⌘J** (or **Ctrl+J**) to toggle it. It knows which page you are on, so you can ask *"Add a transfer step"* while looking at a workflow.
  </Card>

  <Card title="Sculptor Studio" icon="wand-magic-sparkles" href="/docs/agents/sculptor">
    A full-page workspace at **Sculptor** in the sidebar, with the conversation on the left and a live inspector on the right showing what is currently being built. Best for longer or multi-step work.

## What Sculptor can do

Sculptor has access to your workspace and can read and change the same things you can.

| Area | Examples |
| - | - |
| **Agents** | Create an agent, change its greeting, switch its voice or model, edit its instructions |
| **Workflows** | Read a workflow, explain it, add nodes, adjust routing |
| **Phone numbers** | List numbers, show which agent answers one, provision a new number |
| **Knowledge** | List knowledge bases and what is attached where |
| **Functions & MCP** | List custom functions and connected MCP servers |
| **Call logs** | Explain why a call ended the way it did, summarise a day of calls |
| **Analytics** | Report on call volume and per-agent activity |
| **Billing** | Show your subscription and what is left this period |
| **Guidance** | Explain platform concepts and recommend an approach |

### It can also drive the page

When Sculptor makes a change, it can take you to the right screen, highlight the field it touched, and prefill a value so you can review it. It never submits a form on your behalf — anything it fills in stays unsaved until you save it.

## Reviewing changes before they apply

Sculptor does not silently rewrite your configuration. Every change follows one of two paths.

### Approval required (the default)

Most changes raise a **diff card** in the conversation showing exactly what will change.

* Each field is listed with a `+` (added), `~` (changed), or `−` (removed) marker
* The old value is shown struck through beside the new one
* **Approve** applies it; **Reject** discards it and changes nothing

<Note>
  If you close the page with an approval still pending, it is waiting for you when you come back. Pending approvals are counted on the Sculptor launcher.
</Note>

### Applied with Undo

Low-risk edits — like changing an agent's greeting — apply straight away and show an **Undo** link in the conversation. Undo restores the previous values.

### What Sculptor will not do

* **It cannot delete an agent or a phone number.** Deletion is not available to Sculptor at all.
* **It cannot publish for you without asking.** Going live and rolling back are always approval-gated.
* **It cannot spend money without asking.** Provisioning a number, launching a campaign, and placing an outbound call all require your approval.
* **It cannot act outside your workspace.**

## A typical session

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open Sculptor">
    Press **⌘J** for the panel, or open **Sculptor** from the sidebar for the Studio. On the home page you can simply type into the composer.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Describe what you want">
    For example: *"Build a receptionist agent that answers questions about our opening hours and transfers billing questions to 500."*
  </Step>

  <Step title="Watch it work">
    Sculptor shows each step it takes as a tool card — *Listing agents*, *Fetching workflow*, *Updating agent* — so you can see where its answer comes from.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Review the change">
    Approve the diff, or reject it and tell Sculptor what to do differently. If it applied a low-risk edit, use **Undo** if you disagree.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Test and publish">
    Use **Test Call** on the agent to hear it, then publish when you are happy. See [Drafts, publishing and rollback](/docs/agents/publishing).
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Sculptor messages

Sculptor usage is metered per message and shown on your plan as **Sculptor messages**. Your allowance is per workspace and resets monthly.

When you are running low, the composer shows how many messages are left. When the allowance is used up, Sculptor replies with an explanation and you can continue on your next cycle or upgrade your plan.
